Tips for a Successful Golf Season

Practical ways to keep your league organized, your members engaged, and disputes rare.

1

Get handicaps entered before round one

A season feels fair from the first tee shot when every golfer's handicap is already in place. Know a golfer's index from another club? Enter it directly — new golfers can start Provisional and let The Turn establish their real number after a few rounds.

2

Let the QR code do the engagement work

Every printed card carries a QR code straight to that round's live leaderboard. Golfers check it between holes without ever texting the commissioner "what's the score?" — it keeps everyone locked in on the round as it happens.

3

Publish scores the same day

Standings, handicaps, and birdie/par counts only update once a round publishes. Get in the habit of entering and publishing scores right after the round — same-day results keep the season's momentum and give golfers something to check that evening.

4

Print cards a day ahead, not the morning of

Scorecards come straight from the Schedule — pars, stroke indexes, yardages, and each round's own QR code, generated automatically. Printing the night before means one less thing to rush on tee day.

5

Share standings after every round

A quick "here's where things stand" after each round — birdies, pars, and season point totals — keeps the league's competitive energy up between rounds, and it costs the commissioner nothing to pull up.

6

Settle disputes with the audit log, not memory

"Who changed my score?" and "when did my handicap update?" both have real, timestamped answers. Pull up the audit log instead of relitigating from memory — it's faster, and it's not up for debate.
